About Scraps of Love
Our Story
Scraps of Love was founded by Marvin and Karen Martinson in 2022 while Marvin was undergoing cancer treatments. Looking for a way to bless others with their interests and gifts, Karen began making quilts to donate to the infusion center. In learning to make crumb quilts, Marvin wanted to make the quilts large, warm, and fun. These quilts are filled with hidden treasures to seek and find, providing hours of enjoyment. Marvin encouraged Karen to continue the ministry even after his own passing. She does this in his honor and at God's request.
Join our ministry
Quilting groups may form their own chapter of Scraps of Love, following some simple guidelines and requirements. Quilts should be larger than lap quilts, with a size range to meet twin - full size beds and made of 100%cotton quilt store fabric. Following the crumb quilt style, small objects should be found in all areas of the quilt on the front side with a laminated list of objects to find provided for each quilt. - can use financial (non-deductible) donations to cover expenses to transport quilts, travel expenses for speaking engagements, quilting supplies, office expenses, and machine maintenance
- welcome your participation, whether in our original or other group chapter, and host monthly quilting gatherings as we make these beloved quilts
